Leeward is a new, locally owned fiberglass pool company taking shape on the Hampstead–Topsail coast. Beautiful, low-maintenance pools — and a company being built carefully, the right way.
Leeward Pools is a new fiberglass pool company serving Hampstead and the coastal corridor between Wilmington and Topsail Island, NC. Fiberglass pools install faster and need fewer chemicals than concrete. We're completing our setup now — design yours free and we'll take it from there.
We're brand-new — and we'd rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.
Leeward is being built right now: completing our North Carolina business setup and licensing, and forming relationships with the fiberglass shell manufacturers we'll install. We're putting the pieces in place carefully, so that when we break ground, everything's ready.
That honesty is the point. The coast has seen pool companies promise the world up front and disappear. We'd rather earn your trust slowly — with straight answers, a clear process, and nothing committed to until it's in writing.
If you're thinking about a pool for the seasons ahead, start the conversation early. We'll plan it together as we go live.
These are the principles we're building the business around — the way we intend to work with every homeowner.
No vague lump sums. We're designing our process so every cost and every step is spelled out plainly, in writing.
We intend to structure projects around milestones — payment tied to work that's completed and approved, not handed over in advance.
Owner-led and Hampstead-based. You'll deal with the person responsible for your project, not a call center.
A few reasons fiberglass is the fastest-growing pool type in the country — and a strong fit for Pender and Onslow County yards. Read more →
The shell is built before it arrives, so installs are far faster than concrete.
A non-porous gelcoat surface resists algae and loves saltwater.
A flexible shell handles ground movement and high water tables.
No rough plaster on small feet — gentle and quick to clean.
Send a little about your project and a few photos of your yard, choose the shells that fit, and we'll design a layout made for your space — then walk you through it in person.
Browse the models we install and pick up to three — or let us recommend.
A few photos and a short note on what you're picturing.
We lay out your pool in your yard and set up a sit-down to walk through it.
Pick your shells, show us the yard, and tell us where to send the design.
Thanks for the detail. Here's exactly what happens next, so nothing's a mystery:

Hampstead is home. We're building Leeward around the coast we know.
I'm talking with homeowners now and planning ahead. I'm not scheduling installs until the setup is finished, and I'd rather say that plainly than take a deposit and figure it out.
What's left: the North Carolina business registration, the licensing, and the supplier agreements. That's real work with real dates attached, not a stalling tactic. If you're planning a pool for next season, now is exactly the right time to be having this conversation. If you need water in the ground next month, I'm not your guy yet and I'll tell you that on the phone.
The shell is built in a factory and shows up finished. All the work that takes concrete two to six months already happened before the truck pulled into your street.
The surface is non-porous, which is the part that matters long-term. Algae has nothing to grab. Chemical demand stays lower than plaster. There's no liner to replace every five to ten years and no resurfacing every ten to fifteen. It handles salt chlorination without complaint, which is what most people here want.
And it flexes instead of cracking. On sandy coastal ground that moves, that's worth more than it sounds.
I'm not going to give you a number yet, and I'd rather explain why than make one up.
Leeward is new. I'm finishing the North Carolina setup and the supplier agreements, and until those are signed any figure I quoted you would be a guess wearing a suit. You've probably already been handed a number by somebody who did exactly that.
What moves it: the shell you pick, how hard your yard is to get into, what the ground does when we open it, and how much decking and equipment you want around it. When I have a number for yours it goes in writing before anybody digs. Call me at 910-859-6222 and I'll tell you what I can.
Here's the straight version, because this is the question where a new company should get pinned down.
The NC GC Swimming Pools license is in progress. Not held. The paperwork is filed and I'm waiting on the state. I'm not going to word that cleverly and hope you don't check, because you can check, and you should, with the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors. Insurance and the rest of the setup are being finalized alongside it, and nothing gets scheduled until they're done.
But the part that actually protects you was never a certificate. It's how the money moves. I order your shell when your job is ready instead of carrying inventory, and you pay against milestones you can stand in the yard and watch happen. That's deliberate. This coast has been burned by outfits that took a deposit and went quiet, and the answer to that isn't a promise on a website, it's a structure where you're never paid far ahead of the work.
Ask everyone you're talking to how theirs works. It's the most useful question you've got.
Hampstead is home and the middle of it. From there: Surf City, Topsail Beach, North Topsail Beach, Sneads Ferry, Holly Ridge, Rocky Point, Burgaw, Wilmington and Leland.
That's four counties, and they don't work the same. Pender, Onslow, New Hanover and Brunswick each run their own reviews, and Burgaw, Holly Ridge and Leland run inspections separate from their county on top of that. Knowing which counter your permit crosses is most of the job before the digging starts.
If you're just outside that list, call anyway. 910-859-6222.
Call or email and you get the owner — not a call center. Or send a quick note below. Want a design instead? Pick your shells and we'll draw it up free.
